Why would my pet be at the Shelter?

There are many avenues to help a lost cat or dog in your community. In general however, if a stray animal is found, your municiple shelter should be contacted as that is where the pet parent of the lost pet will look to find their cat or dog. The local shelters to give the owner a approximately 3-5 days to claim their lost pet before making it aviilable to the public for adoption. Sadly, if the dog or cat is deemed undoptable because it is scared and acting fearful or aggressive, it will likely be euthanized. For this reason, it is vital that you contact the surrounding shelters immediately when you realize your pet is missing and you should visit the shelters daily.
